SimpleSplit ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application SimpleSplit (the "App"). Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the App.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address (required for authentication)
• Display name (optional, if you choose to set one)
• Password (stored securely as a hash, never in plain text)
• Apple ID information (if you use Sign in with Apple)

Workout Data

To provide our core functionality, we collect the workout data you create:

• Workout days and their names
• Exercises (names, sets, notes)
• Workout splits and schedules
• Exercise logs (sets, reps, weight, completion status)
• Bodyweight entries
• Favorite exercises

Automatically Collected Information

We automatically collect certain information when you use the App:

• Device operating system type (iOS or Android)
• App version
• Basic usage analytics (via Expo Insights)

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the App
• Create and manage your account
• Enable you to create, schedule, and track workouts
• Sync your data across devices
• Improve and optimize the App
• Respond to your support requests
• Communicate with you about updates or changes

Data Storage and Security

Where We Store Your Data

Your data is stored in the following locations:

• Cloud Storage: Supabase servers located in the United States
• Local Storage: On your device for offline functionality

How We Protect Your Data

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:

• Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS
• Data is encrypted at rest on our servers
• Passwords are securely hashed (never stored in plain text)
• Row-level security ensures users can only access their own data

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Supabase: For authentication, database storage, and data synchronization
• Apple: For Sign in with Apple authentication
• Expo: For app development and basic usage analytics (Expo Insights)

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted from our servers. Local data on your device is not automatically deleted and can be removed by uninstalling the App.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: You can view all your data within the App
• Export: You can export your workout data using the Export feature in Settings
• Delete: You can delete your account and all associated data using the Delete Account feature in Settings
• Correction: You can edit your information directly in the App

Analytics

We use Expo Insights to collect basic, anonymized usage analytics to help us understand how the App is used and to improve our services. This includes information such as the number of active users, operating system types, and app versions. Currently, there is no option to opt out of this analytics collection.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
